- hmm... this game looks fun. i would like to see a few more skill shots as opposed to "click and done" shots but beyond that this game looks good. too bad its being made by valve. (though its a reason i plan on getting it)if it was made by anyone else we could expect a third one. but valve cant count to 3
- @rubberduckey111 do you not know Dota? because this game here is not even in beta yet, and valve didn't mak the first DotA, under one half of all the heroes are in the game now, and are gonna be added to the game at release, also alot of the skills just look like single target when seen from a observer, most of the is actually skill shoots.
- @GameITChannel no i never actually played the first dota but i have played LoL, which i believe is like dota. i have SOME concerns about the game like some characters seeming useless (the dude with the ability to tame monsters didnt seem to do much) but then again it also seems like a game that would be loads of fun. i hope it is f2p and the valve cant count to 3 thing is a joke if you look at all their games
- @rubberduckey111 if you've played LoL, then you do NOT know DotA at all.LoL indeed has the same concepts as DotA but LoL has a totally different game play. LoL is based off DotA, but Riot did a good job not copying the entire thing and adding Masteries, Runes, Summoner Skills, Inhibitor respawning, Invis bushes, and heaps more.
- @henryz0r you can't just amuse they did a good job with runes and all that, that is a subjective opinion, i myself don't play LoL because of those things, so imho i think they did a bad job adding Masteries, runes, summoner skills especially rax respawn, and the invis bushes are just instead of trees, i like my trees alot more than those bushes.
- @GameITChannel I don't like it either, that's why I don't play LoL. But some people do, so for the people who play LoL and enjoy it, I give Riot a thumbs up for that.
- @rubberduckey111 im pretty sure he did more than it looked like for the casual observer, since that hero got banned most matches, DotA has more focus on hero roles than LoL has, so the ones playing support looks useless for the casual observer even though what they are doing help the team just as much as the powerhouses. i don't know what type of business strategy they are going with, i myself would really hate if they when f2p like LoL.
- @GameITChannel well its not like they have much of a choice. i see here that this game has some interesting stuff when compared to LoL but most people wouldnt. they would just get LoL thinking that it is a free version of this! so if they dont go f2p with this then they would be totally outmatched. perhapse they could do something like they do with tf2 nowadays with the whole shopping system. or maybe they could add a long term think like the LoL summoner system to stay in the competition
- @rubberduckey111Unless you've played DotA to a very high level, don't even think about commenting on the skills required. Same with any sport, "hey tennis looks easy" but is it really? to get to a world level? There will always be little details which deviates the good from the best. Based on appearance alone, its unsurprising that a newer player would think its easy to play DotA at the top level. The fact that DotA is a team game adds to that factor.
- @Furaxisify i actually look at tennis and think "man that looks fun. i wish i had someone to play tennis with" but then i look that the tennis pro games it i notice that i would be severely outmatched (I MEAN HAVE YOU SEEN HOW FAST THOSE PEOPLE RUN?!) but yeah, it all depends on the enemy in games like this i suppose. a newbie would get destroyed but a pro would be able to hold their own. i c whatcha mean.
